What is NERD?

New Entertainment Research & Design was set up in 2010 by Jago Lee and John Farrar who have together run development and production teams at more than half a dozen leading TV production companies, including Optomen, Tiger Aspect, Talkback Thames, and Raw.

NERD specialises in developing and producing documentary and entertainment formats as well scripted projects in comedy and factual drama. The company has established co-production partnerships for its most ambitious and large-scale productions.

We are driven above all by a passion for distinctive ideas and creative collaborations with writers, performers, format designers and filmmakers.

Our past output varies from prime time comedy, through ad funded entertainment, to factual specials and series for UK and US broadcasters. Our independence allows us to involve broadcaster, brand and talent partners in the key decisions over how to best produce our shows.
